Contractor Scholarship ProgramThe Contractor membership of the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance is proud to offer the new Contractor Scholarship Program. The Contractor Scholarship is generously funded by our Contractor members and will provide support to employees, spouses and dependent children of people who work for VTCA member companies. This new scholarship will provide up to $4,000 for deserving men and women. The criteria for selection includes academic performance (a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required), extracurricular and leadership activities and an interest in some area of the transportation industries. Applicants must be completing their senior year of high school or be enrolled in a college, community college, university or trade school in pursuit of a degree in Virginia. Applications for the 2008-2009 Contractor Scholarship Program are due by May 15, 2008.
Associate Scholarship ProgramThe Associate membership of the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance is composed of suppliers to Virginia's transportation construction industry. We offer two scholarships each year -- The Associate Scholarship and The Rutherfoord Companies Scholarship. Students in a two-year college program are eligible for up to $1,500. Students in a four-year college program are eligible for up to $3,000. To be eligible for these scholarships students must have a parent employed by a VTCA member company. Applicants must be completing their senior year of high school or be enrolled full time at an accredited institution of higher learning in an undergraduate program. Applicants will preferably have a demonstrated interest in some area of the transportation industries. The criteria for selection include academic performance (a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required), extracurricular and leadership activities. Applications for the 2008-2009 Associate Scholarship Program are due by April 23, 2008.
Transportation Engineering Scholarship ProgramThe Architectural/Engineering membership of the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance is proud to offer the Transportation Engineering Scholarship Program. The scholarships provide support to freshman, sophomore or junior young men and women pursuing a degree in an undergraduate engineering/technical curriculum in a Commonwealth of Virginia four-year institution. The Transportation Engineering Scholarship is funded through voluntary contributions of the engineering membership of VTCA as well as from the Annual VTCA Consultant Forum. This year two scholarships will be given, providing up to $2,000 each for a deserving young man and woman. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a four-year engineering program at an accredited Virginia college or university. This program is for undergraduates only. Applicants must be a freshman, sophomore or junior. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applications for the 2008-2009 Transportation Engineering Scholarship Program are due by May 15, 2008.
Aggregate Producer Scholarship ProgramThe
Aggregate Producer Scholarship is generously funded and supported by the
Aggregate Producer membership of the Virginia Transportation
Construction Alliance, and provides up to $1,500 for a deserving young
man or woman. The
scholarship provides support to full-time students enrolled in a
Commonwealth of Virginia four-year institution.
Applicants will be pursuing an undergraduate degree in one of the
following areas: Civil
Engineering, Construction Management, Geology or Mining and Mineral
Engineering. Applications for the 2008-2009 Aggregate Producer Scholarship Program are due by May 15, 2008.
NOVA Transportation Scholarship ProgramThe Hilliard Charity and Fellowship Outing offers a college scholarship for children of VDOT employees or VTCA member companies. Students in a two-year college program are eligible for up to $1,250. Students in a four-year college program are eligible for up to $2,500. To be eligible for this scholarship students must have a parent employed by VDOT or a VTCA member company. Applicants must be completing their senior year of high school or be enrolled full time at an accredited institution of higher learning in an undergraduate program. Applicants will preferably have a demonstrated interest in some area of the transportation industries. The criteria for selection include academic performance (a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required), extracurricular and leadership activities. Applications for the 2008-2009 NOVA Transportation Scholarship Program are due by May 15, 2008.
Virginia Highway Workers ScholarshipThis scholarship is administered by the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA), the American Concrete Pavement Association Mid-Atlantic Chapter (APCA), with assistance from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The scholarship provides up to $3,000 to deserving individuals. This scholarship is offered to employees, spouses and dependent children of people who work for member companies of VTCA and ACPA. The criteria for selection include academic performance (a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale is required), extracurricular and leadership activities. Applications for the 2008-2009 Virginia Highway Workers Scholarship are due by April 15, 2008.
